We came up against one of Europe’s most respected youth academies: Sport Lisboa e Benfica, and while the result didn’t go our way, the boys showed strength and character throughout.

It was a tough start, with two quick goals conceded in the opening five minutes. The boys appeared to be playing more against the badge than the players in front of them. But once they settled, they put in a strong 30-minute spell, linking up well in attack, building confidently from the back, and showing real improvement in their play.

Although the slow start cost us, the reaction from the team was something to be proud of. Moments like these are key to growth, and we’re walking away from this match with valuable lessons and heads held high!
